MILFORD, MA — A Newton-based company will go before the Milford Planning Board Tuesday for permission to build a new manufacturing and office building along Beaver Street.

Fraser Engineering would construct a 30,000 square-foot building at 31 Beaver St. on a nearly 9 acre lot between Route 109 and Birch Street. The company pre-fabricates a variety of pipe and HVAC components for uses ranging from oil extraction to commercial buildings.

About two-thirds of the proposed Milford facility would be used to prefabricate structural steel and steel piping components, according to plans submitted to the planning board. The facility would employ 10 craftspeople, plus about 15 office workers in a 10,000 square-foot office area.

In a memo to the planning board, Milford Town Engineer Elizabeth Mainini recommended the board continue a hearing on the proposal due to ongoing discussions about the building's stormwater runoff. Mainini also asked the planning board members to discuss other aspects of the plan that might affect stormwater runoff — like where snow would be stored and the slope of certain parking spaces.

Fraser's main location is in Newton, but the company also operates a manufacturing facility in Middleborough.
